1. OVERVIEW

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") outlines the rules for interacting with ma'kuu and any services provided by Gi Yamo Enterprise ("Giyaent"). By using our platform, you agree to abide by this policy.

Our goal is to ensure a secure, respectful, and legally compliant environment for cultural heritage research and collaboration.

2. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES

You may not use our platform to:

2.1 Illegal and Harmful Content

  • Illegal Activity: Promote or engage in any activities that violate local, national, or international laws (including the laws of Kenya).
  • Intellectual Property Theft: Upload or share content that you do not have the rights to, or that infringes on the copyrights, trademarks, or patents of others.
  • Harmful Content: Upload or distribute malware, viruses, worms, or any other code designed to interfere with or damage systems.
  • Abuse and Harassment: Engage in harassment, bullying, or the distribution of hate speech directed at individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.

2.2 System Integrity and Security

  • Unauthorised Access: Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, other user accounts, or non-public data.
  • Disruption: Conduct DDoS attacks, scrapers that excessively load our servers, or any action that degrades platform performance for others.
  • Circumvention: Attempt to bypass security measures, usage limits, or access controls.
  • Geo-Pricing Manipulation: Misrepresent your location or utilise a payment method from a foreign region to gain access to pricing tiers, currencies, or tax rates not intended for your actual location of residence or operation.

2.3 Unsolicited Communications

  • Spam: Send unsolicited promotional content, "spam," or bulk communications through platform collaboration features.
  • Phishing: Use the platform to deceive others into providing sensitive information (passwords, credit card details, etc.).

3. CULTURAL HERITAGE SENSITIVITY

As a platform dedicated to cultural heritage, we encourage users to:

  • Respect the cultural protocols and sensitivities of the communities represented in their research.
  • Avoid the public distribution of sensitive or sacred data where such distribution violates community standards or legal protections for cultural property.

4. ENFORCEMENT

We reserve the right to investigate violations of this AUP. If we determine that a user has violated these rules, we may:

  1. Issue a warning.
  2. Remove the offending content.
  3. Suspend or permanently terminate the user's account.
  4. Report the activity to law enforcement if illegal activity is suspected.
